Varvara Logacheva

I am a research scientist at Skoltech’s Natural Language Processing group. My main research interests are dialogue systems, information extraction, sequence-to-sequence models, evaluation of NLP systems.

Before joining Skoltech I was a researcher in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (IPavlov project). I got a PhD from the University of Sheffield (UK).

2017 – PhD in Computer Science, University of Sheffield (UK), supervised by Professor Lucia Specia

Some of my past activities:

  1. I co-organised ConvAI (Conversational Intelligence Challenge) in 2017 and 2018.
  2. I co-organised a series of DeepHack events in 2018.
  3. I co-organised a shared task on Quality Estimation at the Workshop on Machine Translation from 2015 to 2018.
  4. I wrote (jointly with Chris Hokamp) MARMOT – a system for word- and phrase-level Quality Estimation for Machine Translation. It is no longer maintained, but I can answer any questions about it.
