PhD student

Supervisor – Konstantin Severinov

Entry year – 2014

Graduated from MSU, department of bioengineering and bioinformatics

Research project – Uncovering determination of sequence specificity of CRISPR system function.

CRISPR–Cas systems are newly discovered adaptive prokaryotic defences against invading mobile genetic elements. Determinants of CRISPR adaptation preferences are currently unknown. The main goal of my project is understanding of principles, which determine frequency of acquisition of new sequences in CRISPR loci.
