Before joining Skoltech Dr. Loic Salles worked at Imperial College London in the Rolls-Royce Vibration University Technology Center as a Research Fellow. He lead the computational vibration team and was in charge of the development of the Rolls-Royce software for nonlinear vibration analysis. Dr. Salles did his PhD in Ecole Centrale Lyon in France in collaboration (“cotutelle”) with the department of applied mechanics at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
The topics of Dr. Salles’s research are nonlinear dynamics applied to turbomachinery, rotordynamics, reduced-order modeling with a link to machine learning techniques, and numerical methods for large scale modelling of mechanical systems. He is planning to continue this research once in Skoltech and hopes to collaborate with people from Skoltech on other topics. Through his academics career, he managed to build several international collaboration programs with different researchers in Europe.
