Dr. Wang is an expert in the theory and methodology of intelligent systems and optimization methods, as well as related scientific and engineering applications.
Before joining Skoltech Dr. Wang worked as a Chair Professor of Computational Intelligence at the Department of Computer Science and School of Data Science, City University of Hong Kong, where he leaded the research group performing high-level studies on the topic of the theory and methodology of intelligent systems and optimization methods, and their scientific and engineering applications. His past projects included the analysis and design of recurrent neural networks for solving real-time optimization problems and their applications to vehicle routing in intelligent transportation systems, kinematic and dynamic control of redundant manipulators in intelligent robotic systems, robust pole assignment in intelligent control systems, blind source signal separation and pattern classification in intelligent information processing systems, etc. Dr. Wang is a co-author of about 350 scientific publications indexed in the Web of Science Core collection, and his research results were presented at over 170 scientific conferences. His research was supported by numerous successfully completed grants in Hong Kong, China and the United States. He is planning to continue his research at Skoltech.
