Advisor: Alessandro Golkar
Thesis: A Framework for Architecting Federations of Engineering Systems
Ignasi was a researcher and PhD candidate in distributed space systems in the Strategic Innovation Research Group (SIRG), from 2013 to 2017.
In 2011, Ignasi received his degree in Aerospace engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. He developed his master thesis on novel satellite navigation systems while working at GMV Aerospace Barcelona. Afterwards, he joined the European Space Agency at ESTEC to work in the Galileo Evolutions Team. There, he worked in the future of Galileo navigation constellation by developing tools to simulate end-to-end system performance of novel navigation architectures.
In 2013 Ignasi joined Skoltech’s PhD program and spent 4 months as visiting researcher at MIT. In Skoltech’s Space Center, Ignasi led the systems engineering efforts in high altitude ballooning campaigns for demonstration of meshed network technologies and augmented earth observation systems. Ignasi was also involved in EC H2020’s projects for distributed satellite earth observation concepts.
When he is not in the office, he may be playing guitar or hiking.
