Born in Kiev, Ukraine, and raised in Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovs’k region, Ukraine. Attended Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he worked with Prof. Byung Tae Ahn and Dr. Liudmila Larina on Cd-free buffer layers for CIGS solar cells. He also worked with Dr. Nikolay Tsvetkov on Nb-doped TiO2 electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells. From fall of 2014 he is engaged in the project investigating solution-processed WS2 structures for their application in Photovoltaics and Electronics. His research interests include thin film photovoltaic materials, charge transfer processes across active interfaces, and novel materials for fuel cell electrodes. His research approach is experimental. In his spare time Andrii plays football, organizes student activities, and enjoys engaging in various entrepreneurial projects.
