Armen Poghosyan

Professor: Alessandro Golkar

Dr. Poghosyan received his PhD degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA in 2013, and his BS and MS degrees in Geosciences from Yerevan State University, Armenia. Before Skoltech, he worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA and as a Consultant in Armenia.

Dr. Poghosyan’s research is focused on observing the Earth and its environment by remote sensing and machine learning techniques, analyzing nanosatellite capabilities for conducting science missions as well as working on H2020 ONION (Operational Network of Individual Observation Nodes) project investigating emerging fractionated and federated satellite system concepts for competitive imaging from Space.
